Breeding research

Our successful breeding work requires accurate knowledge about plants, their genome and the properties embedded therein, as well as their phenotypical characteristics and physiological functions. Therefore, we have a significant research base in house, and collaborate internationally on projects where these fundamentals can be further explored.

Armed with new information we can select and recombine specific traits. This allows us to create new variations within our plant populations. They form the basis for the development of a new variety. We work out new testing and screening methods to be able to safely recognize disease-resistant and improve quality within plants. We optimize our field testing techniques and breeding methods, thus improving the efficiency of our work.
